The Northeast Maglev, developer of a large infrastructure project, seeks an experienced detail-oriented candidate for Project Engineer cum Assistant PM.  The ability to read and understand specifications, engineering drawings, and contracts is paramount to this role.  This position will be responsible for work ranging from capturing meeting minutes to carrying out due diligence in vetting various proposals and developing/tracking budgets/schedules.  The successful candidate will be technically competent, have experience in construction/design management, and strong writing skills.  This role is on a large infrastructure project where an organized self-starter with strong communication skills will thrive.

Position Requirements / Duties

  • Work as part of a small internal project development team and as a key contributor to a larger multi-organizational project team
  • Project record management
  • Review and/or draft technical reports
  • Technical writing, draft SOW, presentation development, and public speaking
  • Research/compile/report
  • Taking meeting notes
  • Preparation of project and executive review packages
  • Coordinating deadlines and schedules and assist in preparation of integrated schedules
  • Work effectively with local, State and Federal agencies
  • Monitor/track deliverables/performance; and prepare progress reports
  • Coordinate meetings with key stakeholders and clients
  • Willingness to speak up and make suggestions, self-starter, analytical

Experience Required / Recommended

  • 1-4 years of progressively advancing work experience in construction/design management
  • Strong communications skills; both written and oral
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Understanding of project management concepts and budgets
  • Proficient with MS Office

Experience Preferred

  • Experience with document management, quality management, project controls
  • Project Management software (MS Project, CMiC or PRIMAVERA) experience a plus
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS, MicroStation, and AutoCAD
  • Environmental engineering experience

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or management from an accredited university
