Resilient. Responsive…Ready! Another Successful MACo Summer Conference for Northeast Maglev

Each August, the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) holds its annual summer conference aimed at articulating the needs of local governments. MACo gives local businesses visibility while attracting over 2,500 of Maryland’s county leaders, legislators, state government officials, as well as commercial and non-profit representatives.

This year’s theme “Resilient. Responsive…Ready”, focused on all aspects of life that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Leaders from across Maryland joined together to discuss public health, education, continued business development, and the roles that they would play in ensuring that Maryland does not return to normal, but instead builds back better!

Now more than ever, investment in infrastructure projects will be key to economic recovery in the state and in the region. Northeast Maglev’s development of a superconducting maglev (SCMAGLEV) system is a project that is poised to employ thousands, boost regional productivity, and strengthen Maryland’s economy. The project will provide Maryland with the opportunity to lead the nation once again in transportation innovation as it once did with the birth of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.

The proven technology will also provide a more efficient and environmentally sound transportation option, moving millions of cars off the road each year. Northeast Maglev’s state-of-the-art project will undoubtedly transform how Marylanders live, work and travel.

Northeast Maglev had the pleasure of attending as a Bronze Corporate Sponsor for the Maryland’s Association of Counties 2021 Summer Conference (MACo) held in Ocean City, Maryland, August 18th – 21st. The team staffed a booth in the exhibit hall to share the project with attendees and detail how we plan to reshape what travel looks like along the Northeast Corridor.

If you didn’t have a chance to stop by our booth, you missed out on some of our cool giveaways. We kept our messages soaring with personal fans which displayed LED messages about the project and remained the talk of business meetings with our convenient sticky notes, pens and Sharpies. Our Northeast Maglev branded water bottles were a hit and kept everyone hydrated during the hot August conference.

Our team really enjoyed speaking with so many people about how they live, work, and commute in Maryland, and who are excited to learn about all that Northeast Maglev has to offer the region. We’re already looking forward to MACo 2022!

Now more than ever, Northeast Maglev believes that by working together we can do big things for our community. We are looking forward to continuing to partner with community groups throughout the region! Keep track of what we’re up to by following us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
